Homebound Outreach
Volunteer Opportunities
All Outreach teams welcome new volunteers. Check out our team descriptions to see if you would like to help in a certain area. Outreach has particular need for volunteers in the following areas. Contact us for additional information or to volunteer. Because our needs depend on demands which change over time, please consider our volunteer needs if you have time to participate more. Youth opportunity for service hours.Transportation
Drivers are needed to transport homebound to doctor appointment weekdays, shopping or prescription
pickup, or to drive to weekend Mass. There is a particular need for those who could transport
parishioners to the Spanish mass at 3:30.
Volunteers Needed at Sunrise Assisted Living
Can you share an hour once or twice a month to pray the Rosary with
the Catholic residents for one hour on Saturday mornings, 10 am to 11 am? Volunteers are needed both to
participate and to take turns leading each week. Sunrise is at 1778 Fountain Drive in Reston.
Phone Coordinator for Emergency Child Care
When a need arises, the coordinator will contact other Outreach volunteers in ensuring that the family's needs
are met. Please see the Teams for more information about child care.
Officers for 2010-2011
We are looking for officers (president, vice president, president-elect, vice president-elect,
secretary, treasurer) for the upcoming year. Please let us know if you would like to serve or to nominate someone.
Special Projects
Many needs come up through the year... visiting Homebound during Christmas/ Easter, helping at our Harbor House Luncheon,
fulfilling a unique need for Homebound, or even doing things entirely from your home like maintaining our photographs or
creating posters for events. Just let us know if you'd be interested in doing a little bit more and we can offer some
suggestions from time to time.
