WHERE THE KEY OF
EDUCATION IS OPENING DOORS TO THE FUTURE
Dear
First Grade Parents:
In
keeping with May being a special month in which we honor Our Blessed Mother,
the second grade students will continue the tradition of crowning Mary during
the Mass on Friday. Mass will begin at
9:00.
In Math,
we will be working on time and money for the next two weeks. Please help your child learn the proper names
for and size/color of coins – penny, nickel, dime and quarter.
In
Social Studies we are working on the geographic land forms of our country and laearning about the cardinal directions and how to use a
compass rose.
In
Science, we are beginning our unit on space.
We have a lab planned for Tuesday, 5-15.
Our
days will be very busy from now until the end of school. Please make sure that your child comes to
school well rested, and that he/she has the supply box (with 8 sharpened
pencils, and the basic 8 crayon colors), folders, or homework to turn in, that
is required on a daily basis.
Please
be sure to have checked out the information from last Friday’s Friday Folder. Follow the link in the email sent out on 5/1
1 to you.
As
always, thanks for your support.
