January 10

(Tuesday)

Submit partner names (and Thesis Partner Contracts) or individual names for approval to Mrs. Morrison. This is a challenging learning experience that is valuable in preparing high school papers. Some students are more comfortable working as a pair, while others may seek the freedom of working independently. Either choice is acceptable; however, there may not be more than two students working together. Also, those who choose to work with a partner (and their parent) will be required to sign a Thesis Partner Contract .

January 20

(Friday)

Topics are submitted for approval to Mrs. Daughtrey. She will guide you in choosing a topic and suggest ideas.  All topics must be history related and must be narrowed to a specific topic within a time period.  You may not choose World War II or the Civil War as your topic; rather you may present the attack on Pearl Harbor or the role of iron clad ships in the Civil War. Your topic does not have to be limited to American History, but must be historic, not current events or popular cultural events, sports, etc. When choosing a topic, you must also consider availability of resources for your research. You must be able to produce a substantial body of materials for research. See the separate sheet of instructions regarding resources.
