The mission of the St. Joseph School Extended Day Program is to provide high quality childcare in a loving, safe and Christian environment. St. Joseph School provides Extended Day care hours for children currently enrolled in St. Joseph School. Care is provided from 7-8 am and from school dismissal to 6:00 pm on regularly scheduled school days. No afternoon care is provided on school holidays or on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, early dismissal day prior to Christmas or on Holy Thursday. Drop in care is available on a limited basis. If used more than 4 times a month, then the family must register in the program.

Family Support Program

Beginning in 1998, St. Joseph School established the “Family Support Program” to coordinate support efforts for SJS families during a time of need, whether it is due to sickness, the loss of a family member or a joyous occasion like the celebration of a new child.

The Family Support Program generally seeks to provide spiritual and physical nourishment and support, be it through prayer, Mass Cards, sympathy or celebration cards, meals, babysitting or carpool assistance.  We work together to attempt to provide the temporary needs that a family may experience during our year together.  These “times of need” can be most difficult, especially when your extended family lives out of the area and are not easily available to help.  We want you to know that SJS is your extended family and would like to be there for you. Each class has a Family Support Coordinator and a system in place to provide some measure of assistance to you at these most difficult times.

Throughout the year, we may call upon you to assist us with some of the tasks listed above.  Know when we call, this is a completely voluntary program.  If you feel you are unable to assist at the time you are asked, please just let us know.  Also, should you become aware of a special situation within your class (such as a death, illness, birth/adoption) that you feel the family would appreciate our assistance, or you need help yourself, please contact us to let us know.  All requests for personal information discussed to be kept confidential will be respected.
